Harry Bateman was a member of the National Physical Laboratory team (not to be confused with the well-known mathematician Harry Bateman). Helped conduct NPL tests on the Air Ministry Demonstration flight, third flight of R36, 03 Apr 1921. He survived the R38 accident, during which a different type of testing was underway than had been conducted on R36.
