Roberts, Sir Samuel Sr. Conservative MP for Sheffield-Ecclesall. Passenger on the R36 MP flight of June 17, 1921. He was noted by the press as being very excited about the chance to travel on the airship, ascending the ladder of the Pulham mast far more rapidly than his son (who was also an MP and on the same flight: see the next entry). Roberts was quite pleased with the experience, which did not hurt the future prospects of the future Imperial Airship Programme.
