Building on the success of last year’s Airships XR experiences, we’re proud to be working in collaboration with the Shuttleworth Collection and Bedford Creative Arts to present a free, immersive pop-up experience exploring Bedford’s rich airship heritage.
Hosted at the Shuttleworth Collection, this innovative experience invites visitors to step inside history and discover what it was like to walk around and explore some of
the most ambitious engineering achievements of their time. Using Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality technology, the past is reimagined through cutting-edge digital storytelling — alongside the chance to explore airship artefacts and models from the Shuttleworth Collection itself.
We’ll also be there sharing some artefacts from the Airship Heritage Trust Collection, so come along and have a chat and a try.
Visitors can expect to:
- Explore immersive 3D airship worlds through VR
- Try prototype XR experiences, from historic flight decks to museum galleries
- View original airship artefacts and models from the Shuttleworth Collection and the Airship Heritage Trust
- Discover Bedford’s airship story through technology developed in partnership with the Shuttleworth Collection and Bedford Creative Arts
