Weir, Andrew General Lord Inverforth (B. 24 Apr1865, D. 17 Sep 1955) founded Andrew Weir and Co., a Glasgow ship owning firm. In WWI he served as a government minister appointed as Surveyor General of Supplies 1917 to 1919, and then Minister of Munitions from 1919 to 1921. He was interested in diesel engines and invested substantial funds into using them in shipping. He flew on R36 from Inchinnan to Pulham on April 2nd, 1921.
