Assistant Coxswain Christopher Hugh Mason joined the RNAS (B. 1897) in 1916. He had served on several ships before taking up airship duties and had served at many UK stations and also Malta. He lived in Shortstown between 1925 and 1930.
He was later involved in R36 reconditioning and then became Assistant Coxswain on R101.
Tragically, lost his life in the loss of the R101 on 5th October 1930.
