Assistant Coxswain Christopher Hugh Mason joined the RNAS in 1916. He had served on several ships before taking up airship duties and had served at many UK stations and also Malta. He lived in Shortstown between 1925 and 1930.
Tragically, lost his life in the loss of the R101 on 5th October 1930.
