Captain Guy Harris, AFC. Harris was noted as the Meteorological Officer on R34 who travelled on her trans-Atlantic round trip in 1919. He was initially commissioned as a Sub-Lieutenant in the meteorological service on 28 Aug 1917.

After serving on R34 he was promoted to Captain and made at least two flights on R36 in the capacity of Met Officer, specifically the third (3 Apr 1921) and final flight (21 Jun 1921).

He is known to have been stationed at Howden and Pulham. In 1924 he transferred to forecasting at the UK Meteorological Office Headquarters, eventually becoming Deputy Research Director and Deputy Chief Scientific Officer, retiring in May of 1953.
