Long serving and controversial MP who was impressed with his experience on the MP passenger demonstration flight of R36 on June 17, 1921.

When the airship was damaged in a mooring incident and funds were not allocated for her repair by the government, he objected and highlighted the “splendid characteristics” of this passenger carrier. He furthered pressed the government by indicating that the funds allocated for a mooring mast in Egypt could readily be transferred to cover the cost of R36 repairs. This did not happen.
