To
commemorate the final flight of the H.M.A. R 100,
the Airship Heritage Trust have created a 90th anniversary
of the local Canada flight commemorative cover.
Just 100 numbered covers have been produced. The painting
showing H.M.A. R-100 from below represents one painted
by Nevil Shute Norway, Chief Engineer R-100 in 1953,
reprinted with kind permission of Heather Mayfield,
daughter of Nevil Shute Norway.
The rear shows off the 'rounded-stern' of H.M.A. R-100,
leaving the mast at St. Hubert aerodrome, near Montreal,
Canada - pencil drawing by local artist Rae Goddard.
Each
cover has a Canadian inland postage stamp and cancellation
on 90th anniversary of H.M.A. R-100's return to the
St. Hubert mast, Montreal from her 25hr 57 mins local
flight. 10th - 11th August 1930.
All
proceeds of the sale of these covers go to our charity.
