Chief Wireless Transmitter Operator Spencer Thomas Keeley had joined the service in 1924 and had served on the R33 when she broke away from the Pulham mast.. He was also fortunate enough to have been on the R100 flight to Canada six weeks earlier
Tragically, lost his life in the loss of the R101 on 5th October 1930.
